Tools for Campfire Grilling
Having the right tools can make all the difference in how smoothly and fun your campfire cooking adventure goes. Heat-resistant gloves are an important tool because they protect your hands from the intense heat of the grill grates and let you handle the pork chops with confidence.
These gloves not only keep your hands safe, but they also let you move easily around the fire, making sure that every chop is cooked just right.
Getting a good pair of long-handled tongs is also a good idea because they let you move and flip the pork chops on the grill without getting too close to the flames.
Some examples of how useful these tools are are the long-handled tongs that make it easy to turn the pork chops on the grillThey help make sure they cook evenly on both sides and making cooking enjoyable.
Also, having a spray bottle of water nearby can save your life when there are flare-ups or hot spots on the grill. A quick spray of water can help keep the flames under control and the temperature stable, which will keep the pork chops from burning or cooking unevenly.
Choosing the Meat For the campfire Grilled Thin Pork Chops Recipe
There are a few things you should think about when picking the right pork chops to grill over a campfire. Thin pork chops are great for cooking over a campfire because they cook faster.
The thin cut lets the pork chops cook quickly and evenly over an open flame. They make meat that is tender and full of flavor and juicy. Whether you like pork chops with or without bones, choose cuts with a moderate amount of marbling for the best tenderness and juice.
Chops with the bone still in them tend to be more juicy and flavorful because the bone adds extra moisture while the meat is cooking. On the other hand, boneless chops are convenient and easy to eat, which makes them a good choice for eating outside.
By taking these things into account and choosing the right pork chops for your campfire grill, you can will get a great meal regardless of your choice. I do prefer the bone in for my campfire grilled thin pork chops recipe because I believe they retain moisture better.
Marinating the Campfire Grilled Thin Pork Chops Recipe
Marinating is one of the keys to making a good juicy grilled pork chops recipe that are full of flavor when cooked over a campfire. Adding a mix of herbs and spices to the pork chops makes them taste better and makes the meat more tender for a more satisfying bite. See our favorite recipe ingredients in the recipe below.
For people who want to take their marinating to the next level, a vacuum sealer can make the flavors stronger and cut down on the time it takes to marinate. By vacuum-sealing the pork chops with the marinade you make the seasonings more concentrated. This lets them soak into the meat more deeply, giving it a better flavor.
This way not only makes the food taste better, but it also cuts down on the time it needs to marinate, which makes it a good choice for cooking over a campfire when time is limited. I like to seal mine at home so they are ready when I need them.
Season for Flavor

To get the juicy grilled pork chops recipe cooked just right, you need to learn how to grill them over a campfire with skill and attention to detail. Using a two-zone fire setup is an important way to make sure your pork chops are juicy and full of flavor.
You can effectively control the temperature and cooking process by setting up a hot area for searing and a cooler area for gentle cooking. This will keep the pork chops from burning or drying out. By using this method, you can get a beautifully seared outside while keeping the inside tender and juicy, making for a delicious meal.
To make the campfire grilled thin pork chops recipe cooking process even better, you should oil the grill grates before putting the pork chops on them. This easy step not only keeps the meat from sticking to the grill, but it also helps make nice grill marks that make the dish look better.
If you oil the grill grates well, the food will cook evenly and look great whether you like crosshatch patterns or a uniform sear. It’s also important to let the pork chops rest after grilling them. Use the dry rub if short on time. I always have that in my supplies and it is great on any meat. To get it ready just blend the ingredient with a whisk.
- Build a small wood campfire and let it burn down to embers. Do not add your seasoning chips until you are just about to cook. Soak them in water for even more flavor.

(Keep the lid closed as much as possible while cooking.) Grill the chops until they have good grill marks on the bottom, about 2 minutes, then rotate them 90 degrees (don't flip the chops - just rotate them) and grill until they have a good crosshatch of grill marks on the bottom, about 2 more minutes.
- At this point, the chops should be cooked through - they'll have gone from pink to white on the side that's been facing up the whole time. Remove them from the grill. (If you have thicker chops, and the top is not cooked through, flip them over and cook them for another minute.)
- Glaze and serve: Remove the chops to a platter and pour the reserved marinade over the chops. Let rest for five minutes, then serve.
