Campfire Tomahawk Pork Chops Recipe With Sweet Rub
This recipe is not only delicious but also easy to prepare, making it ideal for camping trips or backyard cookouts. We will explore why we love this recipe, why it's great for the campsite.
Fire up the campfire or grill. I let the pit heat up to about 350 to 400 degrees, just right for cooking hot and fast.
Season the pork. My tomahawk pork chops came ready to grill. I wanted to keep it simple, so I season with our signature sweet and smoky rub. I flipped the pork chops and repeated the process on the other side. Don’t be afraid to go heavy on the seasoning! A lot of it will burn off in the cooking process.
Start cooking. I start flipping my pork chops every few seconds until the meat was charred to my liking. Then I set the chops on the cool side of the grill and let them go for 25 minutes turning once or twice as needed.
Once the pork chops hit 130 degrees I take them off of the grill and rest them for 15 to 20 minutes before servings
